Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.

Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.

A sequel to a horror movie as good as REC is a tall order. I myself went in with very low expectations. REC is simply one of the greatest zombie and found footage films of all time. But I was pleasantly surprised by this sequel. Like HALLOWEEN 2 or BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, this picks up the instant the original left off. Sometimes this tactic doesn't work, like in QUANTUM OF SOLACE, but here it drops you right into the action in familiar environs and the tension never lets up. In short, if you liked the original, then you'll like REC 2.

With these films, I don't want to give away TOO many details in case the person reading this review hasn't seen it yet. While the first film relied heavily on atmosphere and telling a story through unfolding horrific events, building up to the last 10 minutes which exposed a huge amount of explanation while remaining some of the most intense moments in horror history.Rec 2 follows a similar pattern but spends more time expanding on the previous film's climactic ending throughout the film. The thrills take only a slight backseat at times to divulge a nice amount of exposition. This approach is actually slightly superior story-wise, but makes it slightly inferior to the original. However, both films stand as equal on quality level and are worth being viewed as 1 competent, coherent story among chaos.Unfortunately, the American bastardization of the original was followed by a sequel that holds nothing to this film, but that's another rant for another IMDb review.Overall, this is a 9/10. Near perfection for the horror genre, which saw an inspiring dose of revitalization in Europe after 2000.

Well, I just saw this movie with my girlfriend and there are few things which caught my eye and which I really like.SpoilersI wouldn't call this a zombie-type movie but a demonic possession type of movie which we learn from this movie. And what I like about it is that it isn't a type of house in nowhere which contains a happy family and one member is possessed but this movie is placed in an apartment building in the middle of the city with demons in it. Unique in my opinion.I like the parallel storytelling from the teens and the SWAT team. And while I'm at it. I'm not sure what happened to the two teens which got locked in a room. As I saw, only one got possessed. I suppose they also got infected. Anyways, one of the best movies alongside REC and would recommend it to everyone.

I was hoping for quite a lot after the first, especially since this was picking up the story just hours after the first {Rec} movie's ending.I was massively disappointed. The plot never delivered & the camera work was very annoying. Why was the building in the dark? Wouldn't the authorities have ensured the SWAT/Research team had electric lights? I found the very forced darkness with torch beams to be a highly irritating feature of this.Having your main characters wearing full body armour with helmets means that often you are left wondering "who the hell IS that???" 'til they spoke a name. The religious angle was possibly better in the Spanish but in English translation it was just plain stupid.Even now I think I may have rated this tripe too heavily with a "4". Don't waste 90 mins of your time on this is my advice.
